But it looks like she herself was campaigning for support, and acting as though it was not her "child." This whole situation is such an awful betrayal of all those who cared for "April Rose."

Just as a test, I went to the site, looked at the site meter, clicked refresh, looked at the site meter...she got at least 30 visitors in that moment. Ugh. I'd love to see all this money go to a charity.

ReplyDeleteThats a great idea Kiki. I really think this is about blog traffic for her. Thats the only thing that makes sense. I have a feeling they are going to back pedal about the photos somehow to keep it going.
ReplyDeleteOh and another thing is that her name was in the URL for the header on her page that was drawn by her! That is her I am positive of that!
ReplyDeleteIt appears, if you click on the "details, details, details," link on the page for "See Through Me," that the artist is pro-life. I'll bet it's all a stunt to "prove" that women who are given a pre-birth diagnosis that is incompatible with life shouldn't terminate, because after all, God saved April...

I've wondered for a long time if the story of April Rose was fake. It just didn't ring true to me, she didn't sound genuine. I was the one she got shrill with when I suggested that homebirth might get her in trouble with the law...
And all of the various voices throughout the past couple days - her "friends" that have posted, have "sounded" just like her.
If it all gets sorted out, and it turns out to be real, and a huge misunderstanding, then I will apologize... But I really want to know the truth.

ReplyDeleteI would think that many of these "believers" are just people who read D's post and took it at face value. They haven't seen the comparison pics or even know about them. I admit, I was mortified this morning when I saw that they had received the photoshopped photos. That's just awful. But I became curious, and here I am.

I just read a post on Gibsontwins blog that Beccah has copied artwork on her site too! The original artist is being contacted ASAP! Even copied his quotes!
ReplyDeleteYou know being a stay at home Mom, this has become the most exciting thing to me in months. It's better than a soap opera (which I don't watch). I was so hurt but the more stuff comes out, the more insane it gets. I was just wondering if her artwork is real....now I hear this....sheesh, what next. I think I'm healed from the pain, this is just pathetic!

ReplyDeleteWhat do you mean? All I saw on the update was that Rachael said, "I will continue to update as B asks me to. I have told her about all of the wonderful encouragement you all are sending her way. She is grateful for that, so thank you." That says that Rachael told her people are supporting her (hopefully leaving out any of the criticism, if the story is in some way true).
Also, I looked into the artwork thing, looking at the work of both artists, and I really don't think the work is copied.
I can't say anything about the artwork. I didnt see a post with the other artists name on it. I would like to though. All I said was that it was posted elsewhere.
ReplyDeleteTicks me off that Raechel's friend via Twitter (Girly923) named Kaira is on Rufflebutts' blog threatening to not buy anything from her and that she is going to post what terrible ethics she has because she pulled her ad. This is insanity! Please someone tell me they are two different people. Are they going this far....someone prove me wrong....please!

ReplyDeleteOne more thing.....we haven't had an update on the blog for a super long time today and there are rumors of fraud yet an update is finally posted and there are only 81 comments (at this moment) in the last 2 hours? Either people are afraid or there are a lot of "hateful" comments not being posted. I thought there would be an outpouring of comments praying for April and her family. I did give thanks for the update and mentioned I was glad that after a day they finally went to the hospital.
ReplyDeleteNobody, I would guess that the reason the RuffleButt woman has that chick threatening to tell everyone that she's awful is because Raechel has been duped and therefore she can't believe that anyone is lying to her & using her, so she's got her friends defending "B" on her behalf. She's in deep denial.
ReplyDeleteThis is what I want ~ I want the name of the hospital that "B" is at and I want someone to call her at the hospital to verify that she's a patient there on the maternity floor.
IF this is legitimate, then all "B" and "D" or even Raechel needs to do is identify the hospital where "B" is currently admitted. If a person called the hospital and asked for "B"'s room and got transferred, you'd know that she at least had a baby. But saying that someone is at the hospital doesn't mean jack squat ~ there was a woman who faked having cystic fibrosis and was supposedly in the hospital for MONTHS and was calling people who vouch that they heard hospital machine noises... but it was not real.
What is Raechel's blog address? I'll post to her that instead of waiting for "B" to call her, she should find out the name of the hospital and call "B", herself. If it's legit, she should be eager to share the information with people so they can verify it for themselves and then get the word out that yes, it's a real story... and then people could go back to praying for them.
I don't think that is what would happen, though.
I know that when I posted on a messageboard that my twins were having brain surgery on the same day, people thought I was totally lying. Giving the name of their neurosurgeon, the name and phone number of the hospital for anyone who wanted to verify their admittance and then posting pictures from throughout the hospitalization proved to everyone that yeah, I was telling the truth. Does it suck that sometimes people doubt honest stories? Yes. But it's the internet... you have to know that if you talk about having a child with a problem, there will invariably be those who doubt your honesty & you may have to prove yourself to be legitimate.
If "D" & "B" are legit, all they have to do is prove it and people will fall over themselves apologizing and supporting them from here on out. Their actions of deleting and essentially running away do nothing to convince doubters of their authenticity.
Yeah, I want to send a gift to the hospital just like people did for MckMama. She was always getting packages and thanking people. Is there harm in sending a gift for "April". They won't reveal that because they are private people. We are to send everything to a P.O. Box.

ReplyDeleteNobody - that sounds like a good idea. Remember "B" said the hospital was only a short drive away? (let's hope she was telling the truth about THAT at least, who knows!!). If that is indeed the case, you should be able to mapquest from her house to them to figure which one is the closest...

ReplyDeleteDifferent city. there are no major hospitals that are super close to her. I would imagine that she would have gone to a city hospital. Chicago would be the closest. There are a ton of hospitals in Chicago of course!

I think they live in the same area and angie was inviting people to join her. not necessarily that they know eachother. not positive though. another one of angies tweets says about her having her editor meet up anyone else want to.

ReplyDeleteJoy, Yes beccah can be in a world of trouble such as mail fraud and because she asked for donations for a charity that to me so far doesn't exist (I looked at the website and it has links to site names that are for sale) It didn't look real to me either. Who knows maybe B made that site up as well.
